Connecting to Energy


    
    We all have the ability to connect with the energies all around us. We just have to be present within the moment and make time to connect with ourselves. When I look back at when I was a little girl, I was constantly feeling different energies from different spaces, people and things. As I grew up, I became more spiritual awaken and started to understand that there was way more to feelings, emotions and sensations that came from the body and the mind. 

    Energy is something we cannot necessarily see. We feel it and by feeling it we know it exists. When I connect with someone during an energy session or reading, I can feel different sensations happening within my body. I know from doing this work, for a while now, that I am not connecting to my energy but, I am connecting to someone else's energy. When I walk into a space I can feel the vibes as well. Have you ever walked into a space and could feel the vibe? Maybe you could feel the love in someone's home or maybe, even when something doesn't feel right. This means that you are tuning into the energy. You might even notice that you tune into people's energy as well. Maybe if someone seems like their upset or just off.

Connecting to Energy 

Learning how to connect with energy is about reconnecting to our roots. Being in the present moment and connecting with yourself. This can happen all at the same during meditation or yoga. Meditation and yoga connects you to your breath, your body and the stillness of your mind. Body scans and mindful walks can also be helpful. The more you connect to yourself the more you can connect with the energies around you.  

Let's try a body scan exercise, right now.  Sit down in a comfortable seated position. Close your eyes. Take a couple deep breaths, in through the nose and exhale out through the mouth. Really releasing your breath out through the mouth. Now, take some time scanning your body starting from your toes working your way all the way up to your head. Notice any tension, sensations, and emotions that may arise, when you are observing these different areas of your body. When you are done observing all of these areas you may open your eyes and I would recommend journaling about your experience. Journaling your experience may help you transform different energies within your body and mind. It also may help you observe what different energies feel like to you. You may do this body scan within meditation or do mini body scans throughout your day just to check in with yourself. How did you feel after doing the body scan? Did you notice anything different after the scan?

When you connect to your energy, you are connecting to your body, mind and soul. You are expanding your perception and familiarizing yourself with the energy within yourself. Once, you start this journey with yourself, you will see that you will start connecting more and more to the energy within and around you.
